Glass industry

The food grain industry widely uses belt conveyors, chain conveyors, bucket elevators, and screw conveyors for bulk unloading and conveying.
For processed powders (like flour and starch), pneumatic/vacuum conveyors and tube disc chain conveyors are increasingly popular for dust-free and hygienic transfer.

Unloading Equipment

1. Truck / Railcar Unloading Pits

Grains discharged directly into hoppers under trucks or wagons.

2. FIBC / Ton Bag Unloaders

For bulk bags (500–2000 kg) of flour, starch, sugar, or additives.

3. Small Bag Dump Stations

For 25–50 kg bags of specialty grains or ingredients.

Often combined with dust collection.

4. Ship Unloaders (for ports)

Screw-type or pneumatic ship unloaders for large grain imports.

Conveying Equipment

1. Belt Conveyors

Most common for long-distance, high-capacity horizontal grain transfer.

Used in silos, ports, and processing plants.

2. Chain Conveyors / En-Masse Conveyors

Enclosed, dust-free, and suitable for large volumes.

Often used under silos and storage facilities.

3. Bucket Elevators

Standard for vertical grain lifting into silos or storage bins.

4. Screw Conveyors / Augers

Common for flour, bran, and meal in processing plants.

Suitable for shorter distances.

5. Pneumatic Conveyors

Used for flour, starch, or fine powders in milling and food processing.

Provide dust-free transfer in enclosed pipelines.

6. Tube Disc Chain Conveyors (emerging use)

Enclosed, flexible routing with gentle handling.

Protects grain products and avoids dust leakage.
